Describe the shape of the planarian. Was there a difference between the two ends of the planarian? What type of cells is capable of regeneration? What type of cells are not capable of regeneration? A planarian is a flat worm belongs to phylum Platyhelminthes. It has a soft, broadleaf shaped body covered with cilia. Planarian has a three branched digestive system.  

There is difference between the two ends. At the head region there are two auricles; ear like structure whereas the other end is simply tail.

Epithelial cells are capable of regeneration

Some planarians have eye spots which act as photoreceptors and tell them to move away from light.

Two organisms which have a power of regeneration are planarian and sponges.

When a part of organisms break, it grows back into complete organisms.
