For this case we have a function of the form [tex]y = f (x)[/tex], where [tex]f (x) = \frac {5} {6} x + 8[/tex]

We must find the value of the function when [tex]x = 3[/tex], that is, we must find f (3). So:

[tex]f (3) = \frac {5} {6} (3) + 8\\f (3) = \frac {15} {6} +8\\f (3) = \frac {5} {2} +8\\f (3) = 2.5 + 8\\f (3) = 10.5[/tex]

So[tex]f (3) = 10.5[/tex]

Answer:

[tex]f (3) = 10.5[/tex]
