Just before the break of dawn on the 30th of April in 1825, Upper Creek chief Menawa, along with 200 Creek warriors, had decided to attack McIntosh at Lockchau Talofau to carry out the sentence. They burned his house down, shot and stabbed him to death. He killed both McIntosh and Etomme Tustunnuggee, who was the elderly Coweta chief.
McIntosh was chosen as the chief of the Creek. On 30th April in 1825, Chief McIntosh was stabbed to death. Chief McIntosh was killed by Creek warriors who felt he was a traitor.
