The behavior shown by ants working together, raise and feed offspring in an anthill is called Eusociality.
This behavior is characterized by these 4 characteristics:
- Adults live in groups
- Look after juvenile members
- Reproductive division of labor
- Overlap of generations
Ants are the biggest example of eusocial insects. Other than ants, bees, wasps and termites show eusocial behavior. This behavior helps members of a team to perform equally.
