Respuesta :
Unlike plant cells, animal cells do not have a cell wall which is why they have specialized structures which maintains the cell shape and structure, this 3 dimensional structures is known as cytoskeleton.
Cytoskeleton acts as both skeleton and muscle and maintain the cell shape. It also maintains the intracellular movements in a cell.
Cytoskeleton is made up of 3 different kinds of fibers:
- Microfilaments
- Microtubules
- Intermediate filaments
In case of plants, cell membrane is surrounded by cell wall tat maintains the cell shape.
Cytoskeleton supports the reinforcement of the cell shape.
Further Explanation:
The cytoskeleton is a criss-cross structure that presents in the eukaryotes. They mainly help in maintaining the shape of the cell. Also, it helps in the movement of the cell. The cytoskeleton filaments are of three types names as,
- Microtubules: They are composed of a protein that is mainly known as tubulin. The tubulin has two forms, alpha and beta. The main function of tubulin is to help in cell division. They form the mitotic spindle fiber in metaphase during cell division. They also help in cell movement because they make up the flagella and cilia.
- Intermediate filament: They are composed of a protein called keratin. The nuclear envelope consists of intermediate filament. They help in holding the organelle at a particular site and provide strength to a cell structure.
- Microfilament: They are made up of a protein called actin. They are present under the cell membrane and maintain the cell shape.
