The yearly NCAA basketball tournament lasts around 5 months. The first 4 months are known as the "regular" season. In the 5th month is where the post-season matches occur. This period is also known as March-Madness.
Critics state that, due to the great attention that March Madness produces in the viewers, there is a growing tendency of indifference in regards to the regular season. When surveyed, many people say that they have not seen a single regular season match prior to March Madness. This leads to issues such as players not getting as much public exposure as they should and uneven advertisement fees.
