The answer to the first question is that Dravot and Carnehan change their appearances by getting rid of their beards and changing up their hairstyles.

For your second question, the narrator's descriptions of his job and newspapers office compare to the adventures of Dravot and Carnehan because of the way they're both told with passion.

Thirdly, peace was brougtht to the people of Kafiristan thanks to these men who fought their battles. The natives needed guidance which for Dravot and Carnehan was extremely convinient considering they wanted to be kings.
