during the recycling drive, 1/5 of the material collected was bottles and 1/4 was paper. cardboard boxes made up 1/10 of the material. how much of the total do these three represent?

Respuesta :

Answer:

There would have been, 20 bottles collected, 25 pieces of paper collected, and 10 cardboard boxes. Theses three therefore show 55/100, of the total amount collected.

Step-by-step explanation:

So, to get this answer ^^, I had to find out how much each one of the materials was actually collected. So, for the bottles, I thought of how many 5's went into 100, which is 20, and then did 20 x by 1 (the fractions numerator), which gave me 20, therefore there was 20 bottles. Then, I did the same with the paper and the cardboard boxes. The paper was: 100 divided by 4 = 25, 25 x 1 is 25, and then the cardboard boxes was: 100 divided by 10 which is 10, 10 x 1 = 10.

Hope this helps! Xo
