In tess's grade 1/2 of students have sisters. out of those 1/2, 1/3 of them have a brother also. what fraction of students have a brother and sister. (when answering please walk throught the steps) im really lost.

Lets say there are x students.

That means 1/2x students have sisters.

Now 1/3 of that 1/2x students also have brothers.

So 1/6x people have a brother and sister.

Therefore 1/6 of the students in Tess' grade has a brother and sister.
