A fish bone diagram is also called  Ishikawa diagram that is an excellent visualization way of depicting the cause and effect relationship for solving a problem.

Here the problem is the dissatisfaction of airline customers. To draw a fish bone diagram, we need to brainstorm and find the possible causes of passengers' dissatisfaction. Then we will arrange these possible causes and their consequences (different form of problems) that passengers faced.

Preparation of chart:

  • we will make a head that shows the problem, that in our case is dissatisfaction of air line customers.
  • Now we will connect a straight line with this head, that looks like a fish backbone.
  • Now, we thought four potential reasons that lead to the problem and joined these in the form of arrows with the backbone of fish.
  • Now we have got different sections where we can mention the form of problems under all reason heading separately in form of diagram.

I have made this diagram in word doc and pasted image. Please see.
