Decimals are weird because unlike whole numbers they don't have a ones place. So the number after the decimal (6) is in the tenths place, then hundredths, then thousandths, and so on. So to round to the hundredths place (the 3) we would look at the thousandths place (the 1). If that number is 1,2,3,or4 you drop it and the rest of the number is the same.
