Gravitational Potential Energy = mgh

In this case the gravitational potential energy added is that as a result of the change in height.

           = mgΔh                g ≈ 9.8m/s²

           = mg(h₂ - h₁)
 
           = 4*9.8*(1.4 - 1.2)

           = 7.84J

GPE added = 7.84J
