How does the author create a sense of tension?

The author uses flashback to reveal secrets about the main characters.

The author uses dialogue to slow the pace.

The author uses metaphor to reveal a deeper meaning behind the main character's actions.

The author intentionally withholds information from readers, leaving them in the dark about the characters' motivations.

Respuesta :

A, for some reason I don't think this would 100% accurate or correct because not all authors use flashbacks, only some for important details or scenes, not the unnecessary information that is not likely needed.

For B all most every story authors use dialogue to help the reader for characters speaking. Readers wouldn't be interested if the writing was stale and we didnt see and kind of pov beside the authors. Authors want to make the readers get hooked into the story and get to know the characters, is this person friendly, cocky, ext, and for that it wouldn't build tension cause its not really getting into deep meaning, only what the character is saying to the other, readers love to know the feelings and the thoughts of the protagonist or protagonist and other main character or all characters.

For C Authors tend to reveal deeper meaning in the characters actions in the story, but not right away, but if is it is revealed near the middle through end parts, and the actions can build sense of tension.

And for D, this may be the answer because authors withold information about the character like in stories about a character witnessing and trying to cope with a death or major incident in his or her family like brother, sister, mother, father, friend, ext. Authors keep this hidden to build tension into the characters and to make readers interested and not bored. A good author will make this tension build to keep people interested because it gets more attention and readers will more likely read to the end to find out what goes on from there and to see what the author is holding in.

Correct me on this one but I would say go with D, Have a wonderful day/evening :)
