The read and respond method of reading holds good to understand the literary experience or to extract the meta-cognitive aspects so as to relate to one's own thinking. This theory is based on psychological principles that connect different mediums of art, music, and literature as they all deal with emotions, life experiences and concerns or concepts of different aspects of life. The read and respond method should be supported by certain important factors like (a) making connections, (b) good visualization and imagery, (c) synthesis and summary, d) during scanning and skimming, e) making inferences etc. This read and respond method keeps the reader involved in the reading process by not only gathering the knowledge of the text read but also to make one's own inferences, critical analysis of the text, making personal connections etc.
