temperature inversion ? I believe that's what you call but in not 100% sure! sorry ):

Answer:

The correct answer is option A, Temperature inversion

Explanation:

In a temperature inversion climatic condition, the cool air lies over the warm air which prevents the warm air to rise in vertical direction. Due to restricted upward movement of warm air, no air blows. Temperature inversion is of three types –

a) Radiation inversion – this occur in clear weather and heat radiated by earth easily escapes into space. Thus,  both the the ground and the air layer close to it cool quickly  but air above ground air cools faster than the air near to ground.

b)  Subsidence Inversion:  An air mass sinks down a  large area near to the earth surface . Thus , air above the ground air warms up more.

c) Advection inversion: Warm sea breezes rolls over the  cold currents before reaching land. Therefore , air near to ground surface gets cool but at a rate slower than the air that lies over it.
