If there is a uncontrolled growth of cells then this uncontrolled growth of cells results into a disease called cancer. There are check points in cell cycle that controls the growth and division of each cell.Basically the term cancer means cells gone wrong because the cells no longer responds to the signals that control the cellular growth and death of the cells. They continue to divide and over the time they become resistant to the mechanism that maintains normal tissue , even the progenitors of the cancerous cells becomes less dependent on the signals from other cells. Cancerous cells evade the natural cell death, despite of many abnormalities present in them.In the last stage they metastasize to different parts of the body leading to death of the individual.
