The American Revolutionary War was a war of independence of the United States of America that was fought between the 19th of April, 1775 and 3rd of September, 1783.
Basically, American Revolutionary War started when the delegates from the thirteen (13) American colonies in Congress (First continental congress) revolted against the Great Britain over their lack of representation in the colonies and refusal to give consent to parliament's taxation such as Stamp Act and Townshend Acts.
Some of the events that caused the American Revolution include the following:
Boston Massacre: an event that occurred on Monday, 5th of March, 1770 in Boston, which helped spark the American Revolution.
Boston Tea Party: it was a political protest that happened in Boston in 1773 and it was led by the Sons of Liberty against the British parliament.
French And Indian War: these were series of battles between France and England in the new world, which resulted in the loss of all French possessions such as lands.
Sons of Liberty: it comprises a group of Patriots that was formed in 1765 to urge colonial resistance to the Stamp Act through the use of any means available such as violence.
Tax without Representation: this was a common complaint made by American Colonists because they felt they were being taxed from England without having any vote in the British Parliament.
Stamp Act: this was an Act passed by the British in 1765, requiring all legal documents to carry a tax mark in order to generate revenue to be used in paying the military for their presence in the American colonies.
Intolerable Acts: these were series of Laws that was passed in 1774 by the British Parliament after the Boston Tea Party.
Proclamation of 1763: it was formally issued after the French and Indian War, thereby, giving the British a monopoly on lands purchased west of the Appalachians.
