An audience makes reference to a group of listeners or spectators at a public event. Regarding literature, an audience is the person for whom the writer produces his/her piece of writing. By doing so, the writer bears in mind the target reader. For that reason, he makes use of specific style of language, tone, mode and content of his writing.
