NAACP Chapter President E.D. Nixon believed that due to the
nature of her arrest, Rosa Parks was the right person who could arouse the
anger of the Black community to spur them into action. Someone they can rally to as a symbol of the fight against segregation. He began to meet with Martin Luther King,
Jr. to organize a boycott the city. This resulted in a victory against the bus segregation system and was upheld by the Supreme Court.
