To declare independence to England and the citizens in America, but there is another glaring reason.
A direct quote; “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights….”
Up to that time, it is the first document that delineates the concept that Government gets its power from the people and the people, when born, have certain unalienable Rights given to them by God! Not the King, Not the Government……
