change the mixed numbers to improper fractions

2 [tex]\frac{4}{5}[/tex] = [tex]\frac{14}{5}[/tex]

5 [tex]\frac{2}{3}[/tex] = [tex]\frac{17}{3}[/tex]

multiply the improper fractions

[tex]\frac{14}{5}[/tex] × - [tex]\frac{17}{3}[/tex]

= - [tex]\frac{14(17)}{5(3)}[/tex] = - [tex]\frac{238}{15}[/tex] = - 15 [tex]\frac{13}{15}[/tex]
