triple means 3.

We are tripling the recipe.

To do that you need to times 5/4 and 3/1.

1: Multiply the top and then the bottom.

5 x 3 = 15.

4 x 1 = 4

The answer is 15/4.

But.. You need to divide them.

Once you do divide them, you get 3.75.

Or you can call that (number form)

Converted into a fraction again would be 3 3/4.
