During cellular respiration, glucose is broken down in the presence of oxygen to produce carbon dioxide and water. Energy released during the reaction is captured by the energy-carrying molecule ATP (adenosine triphosphate).
In Cellular Respiration, glucose and oxygen are reactants of this process. However, the main result of cellular respiration is a product known as ATP (a high energy molecule found in every cell). Carbon dioxide and water are also waste products.
