How can u know ur gpa depending on ur grades like if u have a’s and etc by using a mathematical way

Ok so first find each individual grade on the 4.0 or 4.0 + scale.
then find average by
$\frac{a + b + c...}{n}$
where n is the number of terms and a b c ect. are you grades scaled.
