Hello,

Question:

What is the slope of a line that passes through (-12, 15) and (0,4)

Solution:

Formula for slope: [tex]\frac{y2 - y1}{x2 - x1}[/tex]

Put the following coordinates into the formula: [tex]\frac{4 - 15}{0 - (-12)}[/tex]

[tex]\frac{4 - 15}{0 - (-12)} = \frac{4 - 15}{0 + 12}[/tex]

Anytime you have something like this - (-x) its always going to be + x!

Simplify: [tex]\frac{-11}{12}[/tex]

Slope: -11/12
