The current ZPG movement can be considered a neo-Malthusian movement in the method or system of its implementation.

The aforesaid movement defines a need to radically decrease birth rates that the world will have no increase in population to compensate for the direct nature of resource growth in the world. Moreover, neo-Malthusian ideals are evident and pronounced through governmental agendas, such as those which varies from educating women and striving for gender equality to those which basically limit the amount of children born to each household. The ZPG movement is more appealing to wealthy residents of well-off nations than to struggling and underprivileged citizens of poor countries because, truthfully, they have more money.
