As per equation of kinematics we know that-

                                   $s\ =\ ut+\frac{1}{2} at^2$

Here s is the distance travelled by the object.

                                             $=2*8+\frac{1}{2} 3*[8]^2\ m$

                                             $= 16\ m+96\ m$
