What is the pattern rule for this pattern 5-8-14-23-55?

It’s +3 and then multiply 3 each time. I can’t really explain it, but here’s an example
1, 4, 10, 19
1 + 3 = 4,
3x2=6
4 + 6 = 10
etc etc
