“La Relación” is a historical account of the spanish expedition led by Álvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca. It is a detailed account of the expedition written as a report to the king. In chapter 19 of “La Relación,” the Karankawa Indians bring food to trade with the Spanish crew for beads and bells. The food that the Karankawa Indians brought mostly comprised of lots of fish along with some roots which tasted like nuts.
