Solution

f(x) = 5$x^{2}$ - 4x

and g(x) = 5x + 1

f + g is nothing but addition of f(x) and g(x)

Therefore, f + g = f(x) + g(x)

= 5$x^{2}$ - 4x + 5x + 1

Simplify the like terms, here -4x and 5x are the like terms.

f + g = 5$x^{2}$ + 1x + 1              [ 5x - 4x = 1x which is nothing but x]

f + g = 5$x^{2}$+ x + 1
