the equation of a line in ' slope- intercept form ' is

y = mx + c ( m is the slope and c the y-intercept )

here m = - $\frac{3}{7}$

partial equation is y = -$\frac{3}{7}$ x + c

To find c substitute ( - 5, 6 ) into the partial equation

6 = $\frac{15}{7}$ + c ⇒ c = $\frac{42}{7}$ - $\frac{15}{7}$ = $\frac{27}{7}$

y = - $\frac{3}{7}$ + $\frac{27}{7}$ ( in slope - intercept form )
