right to be informed
This right states that manufacturers should regularly provide customers with complete relevant information in order to provide responsible and informed commodity choices. Commodity data furnished by a company should always be full and accurate. Striving to achieve security against misleading knowledge in the areas of investment, promotion, labeling, and packaging, the right to be informed is preserved by several pieces of enactment passed between 1960 and 1980.
Some of the law which was made due to the declaration of the right to informed includes the following:
Fair Packaging and Labeling Act
Wholesome Meat Act
Truth in Lending Act
Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act
The right to be informed gives consumers the freedom to review all details about the products they wish to buy.
