you are trying to find the leg or height. since you already have the hypotnose and another leg or base. so you plug it in the pathgoren theorem. base =5
hypotnose= 12
a^2+b^2=c^2
[tex] {5}^{2 } + {x}^{2} = {12}^{2} [/tex]
