They stretch so they dont injure any muscles and so they dont get cramps and so they are more flexible during the game
As an athlete myself, I definitely know the answer :)
Athletes stretch before a game or match to warm up their muscles so they don’t get any injuries. Plus, once the game starts, their bodies and loose and ready to play.
Most athletes have a pre-game stretch routine that is basically like a warm up
