Read the following sentence from Desert Exile: The Uprooting of a Japanese-American Family, a memoir by Yoshiko Uchida that describes life in an internment camp. What is the author’s purpose in writing the narrative? Excerpt from Desert Exile: The Uprooting of a Japanese-American Family By Yoshiko Uchida Shivering in the cold, we pressed close together trying to shield Mama from the wind. As we stood in what seemed a breadline for the destitute, I felt degraded, humiliated, and overwhelmed with a longing for home. And I saw the unutterable sadness on my mother’s face. to inform the reader of the weather conditions when they arrived to inform the reader about the physical and emotional suffering endured by people in the camp to inform the reader that they had to stand in a line to get supplies to inform the reader that her mother was a very frail woman

Respuesta :

To inform the reader about the physical and emotional suffering endured by people in the camp. Btw, it would help if you maybe numbered the answers, or maybe just do

This^^

Remark

The second best answer is D. The mother is frail. That's why they are acting as a wind break. I've lived in 3 places where there were internment camps and the answer is definitely B.  The weather conditions are always influenced by a cold wind which never seems to stop in winter. It is really bad when it comes from the east.

But it is not the frailty that is bothering the mother. Nor is it even the east wind. It is the total unfairness that Canada and the United States imposed on some of  her citizens during WWII just because of their skin color. Of course that is not stated in what you are given, but B is definitely the answer.
