Solve the first part of the equation
2.5 X 10 = 25
2.5 X - x = - 2.5x
+ 21
which all added together equals - 2.5x + 46

Now for the second part of the equation
- 3.5 X 3x = - 10.5x
- 3.5 X 20 = - 70
+ 84
which all added together gets you - 10.5x + 14

once you have both parts of the two sides solved, you have to start subtracting from each sides
- 2.5x + 46 = -10.5x + 14
- 46 + 46

- 2.5x = -10.5x + 60
-10.5x +10.5x

-13x = 60

60 ÷ -13x

x = -4.61
