Blu-Rays outsold standard DVD systems when the price of 300$ for a blu-ray dropped to 150$ and the blu-ray system has a higher quality than a DVD think about it why would you pay money for a lower resolution DVD player when you can buy a higher resolution Blu-Ray system for much cheaper.
