What you have to do is just plug in the numbers for the variables. They say put in x=-1, x=0, x=1. and to find y for each.

-3*-1+5    -3*-1=3   3+5=8

-3*0+5=5 (-3*0=0)

-3*1+5     -3*1=-3   -3+5=2

8, 5, 2 are your answers.

then you can put the points on the graph, draw a line, and solve others easily.

Values of y are -3(-1) + 5 = 8  for x = -1

-3(0) + 5 = 5 for x = 0  and -3(1) + 5 =  2for x = 1

so you need to plot the points

(-1,8), (0, 5) and (1 , 2)
