The formula of a slope:

[tex]m=\dfrac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}[/tex]

We have the points A(-7, a) and B(c, d).

Substitute:

[tex]m=\dfrac{d-a}{c-(-7)}=\dfrac{d-a}{c+7}[/tex]

Exception: c ≠ -7.
