There are many coping strategies to protect yourself from difficult feelings. Such as, using internal coping skills. Internal coping skills include things you can do without much moving and all. There is meditation, deep-breathing, Thinking of a safe place in your mind, and way more. There are also external coping skills, these skills are what you do outside of your body. Examples include drawing, singing, talking to people, and much more. There are many ways to help yourself from difficult feelings, but it's mainly just how you use them.
