slope = - [tex]\frac{3}{2}[/tex]

using the ' gradient formula '

m = (y₂ - y₁ )/(x₂ - x₁ )

with (x₁ , y₁ ) = (1 , 5) and (x₂ , y₂ ) = (3 ,2) then

m = (2 - 5 )/(3 - 1 ) = (- 3 )/2 = - [tex]\frac{3}{2}[/tex]
