When an object gets heated by a temperature ΔT energy needed, E = mcΔT

Here mass of glass = 55 g = [tex]55*10^{-3}kg[/tex]

  Change in temperature  ΔT  = 16^0C[/tex] = 16 K

  Specific heat of glass = 0.84 J/gK = 840 J/kgK

  Substituting we will get

            E = [tex]55*10^{-3}[/tex]*840*16 = 739.2 J

So a heat of  739.2 J is required to raise the temperature of a 55 g glass ball by 16°C
