Can anyone help me with this question?

Write an expression and then evaluate when x = -6.

Nine subtracted from the quotient of twice a number, x, and three. ?

Evaluate when x = -6 ?

Respuesta :

We have to determine the expression for the statement:

"Nine subtracted from the quotient of twice a number, x, and three"

Expression is [tex]\frac{2x}{3} - 9[/tex]

We have to evaluate the value of the given expression at x = -6

[tex]\frac{2x}{3} - 9[/tex]

= [tex]\frac{(2 \times -6)}{3} - 9[/tex]

= [tex]\frac{(-12)}{3} - 9[/tex]

= [tex]-4 - 9[/tex]

= -13

So, the value of the expression is -13.
