It depends on the individual and how fast anyone he or she is running.

Now we will  take the example of a runner who is capable of running as 4 minute mile.

For the record, that's not me. I might be able to finish the mile in ten or fifteen minutes, and I'd probably need help.

A mile is 5,280 feet. Running that distance in 4 minutes is the same as 240 seconds.

Dividing 5,280 by 240 means that the runner is running 22 feet per second.
