An airplane flying at 120 km/h due west moves into a region where the wind is blowing at 40 km/h due east of the plains original vector velocity is very plain, what is the expression for the plains resulting velocity in terms of the plane?

Respuesta :

Velocity of plane is given as

[tex]v_p = 120 km/h[/tex] towards west

velocity of wind is given as

[tex]v_w = 40 km/h[/tex] towards east

now the net velocity of the plane will be given as

[tex]\vec v_{net} = \vec v_p + \vec v_w[/tex]

[tex]\vec v_{net} = 120 - 40[/tex]

[tex]\vec v_{net} = 80 km/h[/tex] towards west

so the net velocity of plane will be 80 km/h towards west
