21-3q=9

-21     -21

-3q=-12

Divide bye 13 each side

  1. 15 - 3q + 6 = 9 (re-arrange)
  2. 15 + 6 - 3q = 9 (add)
  3. 21 - 3q = 9 (subtract -21 from both sides)
  4. -3q = 9 - 21 (add)
  5. -3q = -12 (divide both sides by -3)
  6. q = +4
