Average speed of the driver is given as

[tex] v = 64 mph[/tex]

if he moved for total time t = 3.5 hours

so the distance between the tow is given as

[tex]d = v* t[/tex]

[tex]d = 64 * 3.5[/tex]

[tex]d = 224 miles[/tex]

so the distance between St. Louis and Chicago is 224 miles
