Which would be the best tools to measure the density of a small piece of silver ore?

a- a barometer and a balance

b- a density probe and a 500 ml balance

c- a graduated cylinder and a balance

Respuesta :

So, let's go trough all the options:

A can't be the answer because a barometer is an instrument to measure atmospheric pressure, not density.

B seems like the answer but it's not. A density probe is used to measure density, temperature and level of fuel in the car, and not density of an object.

C is the answer, but it doesn't give you the answer directly. *

* We know that the formula of density is:

[tex]\bf~Density = \frac{Mass}{Volume}[/tex]

→ By putting the piece of ore inside the graduated cylinder with water, we can measure the ore's volume and by putting it on a balance, we can measure its mass and that is all we need to find it's density.

Hope it helped,
