Mexico. The PRI (Partido Revolucionario Institucional) was the leading political party in Mexico since 1929 until the decade of 1980. It became into the main political power for these almost 70 years, when due to economic crisis, unemployment and also, the pressure from political minorities, led to the introduction of different measures to distribute the political power in order to restore the credibility of Mexican democracy, which had been questioned by the time. This change led to a progressive transformation of the Mexican government.
