What caused Alexander to stop was that he died at the age of 32 with a fever and infected wounds. His empire stretched to Lahore in modern day Pakistan up near the Hindu Kush mountains. We just finished up learning about Alexander The Great is my Ancient Studies class its so interesting to see how he spread the Greek culture around. Hope I helped!
